About Us

Welcome to BSA Troop 1701’s website.

A Boy Scout Troop has youth members from the age of 11 - 18 years old.

Troop 1701 was originally chartered on March 31, 1926

Troop Meetings are currently held at Leonard Elementary School on Tuesdays when school is in session. On the Tuesday after a Troop campout the Troop Meeting is replaced with the Patrol Leaders Council and Troop Committee meetings.

Scouting has helped mold the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes, and through over a century of experience understands, that helping youth puts us on a path toward a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.

Scouting helps meet these six essential needs of the young people growing up in our society: Mentoring, Lifelong Learning, Faith Traditions, Serving Others, Healthy Living and Building Character.
