Mr Eckerle briefed the Scouts (and many parents) at this past week's Troop Meeting.  He also passed out the sale materials to all in attendance.  Not too much is different from last year, and we decided to hold the line on prices.

September 26-28:  Emergency Service Weekend Camporee at the Calhoun Fairgrounds in Marshall, MI

Model Rocketry Campout was a Blast(off)!

May 16-18, 2014 - 11 Scouts, 4 adults, and nearly two dozen Webelos and their parents spent several hours on Saturday launching rockets at Addison Oaks County Park in Leonard, MI.  All told, we sent about a hundred rockets into the air in groups of 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 at a time.  Misfires lessened as the boys learned how to properly prepare a rocket for launching.  Lost rockets did happen, but in smaller numbers than in the past due to the size of the "Glider" field at the park.  The most memorable had to be Joey's, as it was stuck on a tree branch, hanging out over a rain-made pond.  Even if it had been dry, I'm not sure we could have retrieved the rocket.  Joey also happened to have the landing that was closest to the launch pad - though it's not clear if that was the plan, or the will of the winds...
